From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a colorful mix of heroes, and a thrilling plot showcasing divine entities, evil spirits, and sinister influences increasing in influence within the city.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season are included.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The third episode concluded with a huge suspense moment and revealed the premier party of characters who will branch out from the main group to begin their separate journey, separate from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), the fierce warrior (the cast member), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Given a large ensemble, it was clear from the outset that maintaining everyone at one table would be impossible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Overture, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three distinct groups: Warriors, Schemers, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for participants who prefer a typically action-packed fight-heavy gameplay experience where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might look out of place, but the events of the third episode make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to proceed after a intense first encounter with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose demise started the story’s plot—exploited The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, striking the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The antagonist then paid off his debts and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, north of the city, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each adventurer has a specific drive to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, seeks retribution.
- The adventurer knows Timmony and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
- The strong character and The cleric, having defied his relatives’ demands to eliminate the target and instead freed him, have no other options.
- But, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the party enter places they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character swore a life debt to The cleric for his salvation and will now accompany him wherever.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the authorities that rule the setting for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The healer betrayed the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the clan.
This results in them few options but to travel to Timmony in search of the antagonist.
Future Episodes
From the latest episode’s follow-up content, we discover that the combat party will not appear next week, leaving the remaining eight cast members to assemble the Explorers and Schemers tables.
Viewers can expect finding out which characters will be assigned to which table in the story’s last Overture episode, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
