2K Games has secured Ben Brinkman from Respawn Entertainment to direct the development team at 31st Union, which is currently developing the anticipated over-the-shoulder action-packed title known as Project Ethos.
The new appointee assumes the leadership position at the development studio following the exit of former leader the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was reportedly let go due to the game's underwhelming unveiling last fall.
Recently, the company's top executive a key figure notified staff about this strategic move through an official communication, which highlighted that playtesting had indicated the necessity for a clearer vision.
Ismailer noted that the developers is now refining Project Ethos with a refreshed focus, aiming to better meet gamer demands.
The news follows a comparable move taken by 2K Games in August, when they recruited Rod Fergusson from Blizzard to assist with the BioShock development group.

Project Ethos was unveiled in last year in conjunction with a community playtest. At the time, the developers portrayed the title as a "free-to-play, third-person perspective action-packed experience and an exciting advancement on the genre."
"Create your ideal gameplay session—or face defeat—in this engaging over-the-shoulder adventure! Build your hero in real-time to fit your unique tactics," the official summary states. "Face the opponents with unique powers, risks, and challenges that change every session. Will you leave securely with your valuable rewards? The game has not yet received an official launch window or supported systems, but fans can expect further news as creation progresses.
